A new paper is trying to create an index of the prestige of 1029 specific occupations. The idea here is that social scientists often care about socio economic status. So what's being seen as high versus low in a job is associated with it being seen as prestigious. Alexa: I feel like if you're giving somebody an award for their scientific legacy, then hey, it should count that they kicked off this whole subfield that ended up being just smoking mirrors and nobody believes anymore.
