Emergent Properties of Learning Platforms
Emergent properties are properties of a system that are not isolated to one part. They exist as the result of interactions between the system, of all the parts together. For instance, availability is an emergent property of software - it means not going down. But we can't measure them directly and only get little clues about how well they work. There's danger in spoiling the information by trammeling over these emergent properties.
