The Virtues of Dante's Purgatorial

Dante relies on St. Thomas' systemization of his own presentation in the purgatorial, as we'll see in a few moments. He says that virtue is a stable, operative habit of mind. The piano player practices day in and day out; he or she develops this habit of being able to play the piano. We might think of it nowadays as muscle memory. That concert pianist comes a little closer to what a quinist means by a virtue.
