Liberalism and the Origin of Christianity
Maitre: Liberalism needs to be seen first of all as an apologetic strategy. But this is also how Maitre and saw liberalism and how he defied it. He says liberals consistently fudged the facts, but they did so in order to save Christianity. Once you deny that supernatural character of Christianity, you have in effect denied Christianity, writes Maitre.
