Is There a Systematic Relationship Between Discourse and Reaction?
People who are so worried about economic determinism don't really believe such reasons exist. You have to actually think that there is a reason why people react to that new situation in the way they are. So then when people do things that are very predictable, then you're like, aha, see the pattern of repetition. This is the emotional kind of constitution of this group of people. It's not an explanation. That is a projection of how you think the discourse is and what you think other people could be reacting to based on what you're reacting to.
