Introduction
Keenan Ivory Wayans first discovered his love of comedy as a young boy living with his 10 brothers and sisters in a housing project on the west side of Manhattan. Keenan worked his way up the comedy circuit, hanging out with other young Black comedians like Arsenio Hall and Eddie Murphy. In 1983, he finally got a break when he was invited to perform on the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. It's hard to look back now at The Cosby Show for what it was, thanks to what's been revealed about Bill Cosby in recent years. But at the time, The Cosby Show was a huge cultural event.
