The Role of Endocannabinoid Receptors in Protecting Cells
Is it fair to say that in most of the cells and tissues that they operate in, that they're playing some kind of homeostatic function? Or is that only true in some cases? It's a word I've heard used a lot. So yes, in that one, when there is cell damage, so for example, if a cell is starved of oxygen or if it is being, has oxidative stress then there will be release of endocannabinoids. There will be an upregulation of cannabinoid receptors, particularly the CB2 receptor.
