The Dangers of Reasoned Argument
I think I've put it a bit more optimistically, because I think what you're trying to highlight is the ways in which people are self-deluded about their power to be objective. So for example, if you have a racist ideology which is based on claims about the inferiority of certain races, et cetera, that is going to be demolished by fact. Can we ever get to the point where reason will convince everybody to accept the same vision of society, the same idea of justice? No. But fortunately, I don't think we need to get to that stage to get to a society which is better than the one we have.
