Stephen Kishko was convicted of the murder of Leslie Malsede in 1976. The prosecution theorized Stephen retracted his first confession to avoid shame and guilt And to protect his mother from learning what he had done A proven liar, he backpedaled and denied everything in a desperate attempt to secure his release. On July 21, 1976 after five hours and thirty-five minutes of deliberation the jury reached their verdict Guilty Stephen was given a life sentence with a minimum of thirty years Early release would only be considered if he admitted his guilt for the murder.
