The Importance of a Single Law for All Citizens
The story of the Exodus weighed heavily on his mind as he drafted the document that ushered in a new era of Jewish liberation. His draft, though short, covered a lot of ground. Most importantly, he wrote about the historic and spiritual connection between the Jewish people and the land of Israel as promised by God. Here was both an invitation to the state's minorities and a promise. As we've discussed in previous episodes, the promise wasn't always honored and the invitation wasn't always answered.
