The Importance of Arts and Sciences in Premiership
The Premier was interested in arts and sciences. We don't get that much interest by premiers today in the artistic world. If a city is going to be globally competitive, it's got to do super well in the space of theatre, all types of music, contemporary art,. historic art museums. No city would claim to be economically competitive unless it's able to offer sophistication across all of that sphere. It's harder to attract the top CEOs and others if your city hasn't got that broad reputation.
