The European Commission Approves Microsoft's Historic Acquisition of Activision Blizzard

Destin Lagerie is our resident Activision Blizzard deal correspondent. The European Commission announced on its website that it has approved the proposed acquisition under the EU merger regulation. UK's CMA doubled down on their no go stance saying quote the UK, US and European competition authorities were unanimous that this merger would harm competition in cloud gaming. This approval brings Microsoft's historic deal one step closer to completion.
