How to Help Your Toddler Through the Expectation Gap

The expectation gap is where through no fault of your own, you're expecting more self regulation from your child than your child is developmentally able to have. So check your expectations and understand that for many of our of our toddlers, we have to be patient. When they have a big huge reaction to a small thing, please know it's not intentionally trying to screw up your night or your day. They are having a physiological reaction to not being able to regulate their body and brain. And they need an adult to help lend them our calmness to lend them our green pathway.
