How Do We Construct Our Own Self Conceptions?

Is it that we learn things about our own selves? I mean, just overtime, as we are developing as people? Or is it the information that we get from other people about us? So the interest, it seems to me a bett bot am, so there've been different researchers argue slightly different things and take similar bits of information and interpret them in very different ways. A lot of it comes from how we believe other people are perceiving us. We start thinking of ourselves as being intelligent and capable. And so i think this has to do with our perceptions of how others view us.
