There were opportunities if Pakistan wanted to internationalize the conflict, they could have done that much earlier. India was then at a military disadvantage and not fully prepared, but they didn't. On December the thirdPakistan launched air attacks on Indian airfields with less than 36 aircraft. The Israelis did in 1967 in the in the June war when they attacked, they had a little over 200 aircraft in the inventory. Only one aircraft was left circling over Tel Aviv. And the inventory was launched in waves across into the Mediterranean curving back from the West to attack the Egyptian air fields. They destroyed almost the entire Egyptian air force on the ground.
