Drobe and Yumi made Suru's funeral pyre from the debris that remained after the fight. The guards had fought well, but if they were samurai, they wouldn't have been guards. After laying the wrapped body on the flames, the parents watched the smoke and the ash ascend to a place that was different from this one. They hoped a better place.
