I think it imprints us in ways that we probably don't even think about, but so many of them stay with us for so long. So when you end up going and basically saying, I want to study this,. I want to really find out what's happening here. You focus in on something eventually that you label as future identity - which is a really interesting concept. It grounds a lot of your work and a lot of the research that you've been doing. The theory highlights the ways that we're constantly redeveloping a sense of who we are.
