Our industry is kidding ourselves that we do continuous deployment. I can probably count on my both hands, the number of engineering works I've seen that actually do continuous deployment across their whole engineering work. merge to production is by far the longest period. And particularly when you have stacked to production, it gets really complicated really quickly all of a sudden.
