CHAPTER

The Limits of a Good Theory

A good theory is mathematically precise and will tell you the limits of its own assumptions. Einstein's theory of special relativity and gravity assume that space time is fundamental. quantum field theory builds on that, but it also assumes spaceTime is fundamental. You put them together and the mathematics tells you your fundamental assumption about space time stops being coherent at 10 to the minus 33 centimeters and 10 to theminus 43 seconds.
