The Anointing of King David in Lent

During Lent, the first reading is accounting of the major events in the history of Israel. Here with the Davidic covenant, it's comes about by an anointing and that will be something that comes up later in the gospel. The Saint Paul says, but now you are light in the Lord. Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness. Rather expose them for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, awake or sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ will give you light.
