Iris murdach is a huge influence on my thinking in general and in this book. The negative part of it has to do with the limits of argument that i think there are things the argument can do when we're somewhat on the same page. If someone is absolutely determined to disagree with you and you argue with them you'll just find that every time you make an argument they pick a premise of your argument and say well i don't believe that either. It's something that if you think about the contemporary phenomenon or contemporarily prominent phenomenon of conspiracy theories you know that you can't argue a conspiracy theorist out of it. You can hope to get them to see the world differently but
