Teaching is hard work and it was the first piece of advice I was given as an NQT by the second in history when I joined the history department. He said that the secret to this job is hard work nothing else, there's no truth he says. Relationships are important but you can't just walk into a class and go hey guys let's have some good relationships they're not all about rose and shine stuff. There's a responsibility on the part of schools here to build that sense of order how do you induct new pupils into your school  there's a big moral responsibility a professional responsibility on the parts of heads and senior leaders or heads a year or heads a house
