Mission Impossible: A Mid-Tier Action Franchise

While the movie is still making a good amount of money, it's falling well short of what it was tracking. What's the main reason for this, especially since Maverick was such a huge hit? Did all the Barb and Hymer hype make people forget? Am I seven or is it something else? Do you care about tracking? You know, why would we care? Tracking kind of feels like polling where it's just like it's broken.
