The ACIP's Official Position on Shingles
The shingles vaccine is not recommended for anyone under the age of 50, unless you are immunocompromised. The main reason for that is purely because it has not been studied when they did a clinical trial on the current shengrix. "It may not be recommended, but it's not illegal," says Dr. Aaron Carroll.
