The Challenges of Hydrogen Production

Hydrogen is a small molecule. It's only got hs in it, hydrogen atoms, and can be used as an energy source. We produce approximately 120 million tons of hydrogen around the world every year. To get hydrogen from a hydrocarbon source, often we use something called steam methane reforming. The problem with that is that carbon dioxide is produced in the process. And that's where electrolysis comes in.
