Maths Is Relevant to Daily Life

Mathematics can provide a relief from daily life an anodine to the practical work of a world. The history of mathematics is a history of mankind's engagement with questions like these not the mindless regurgitation of formulas and algorithms together with contrived exercises designed to make use of them. We don't need to bend over backwards to give mathematics relevance it has relevance in the same way that any art does that of being meaningful human experience. A good problem is something you don't know how to solve but serves as a springboard to other interesting questions such as triangle, pyramid or three-dimensional box.
