The motivation to give guidance is most mostly sort of altruistic, to help another person and the team as a collective flourish. So you don't want to tie these two minute, impromptu development conversations plicitly to anything like bonuses, or promotion or getting fired. When it all works well, there's great alignment. What's good for me is what's good for you. And that's part of the joy of working together.
