Is There a Difference Between Celtic and Latin European Christianity?
The synod of Whitby in 664 was a big kind of crossroads, wasn't it in the history of the English church? Indeed, yeah. Because while we're getting in this particular area and by the 7th century the Celtic Christianity to use the term has been strong in Ireland, it's influencing Britain. But for good reasons really there was a sense of which there was a feeling for Christian unity's sake that there should be some sort of conformity right across the Christian world. And so therefore one had to give way to the other.
