David Perry: Drug companies set up their studies in a way that it will look like there is some kind of difference between the chemical and the placebo. He says they're allowed to run these trials and add more and more patients until they hit statistical significance, which can be meaningless from a clinical point of view. Perry: If you get even a partial improvement, a person is still depressed. They still have a crappy life. When you get down to a score of zero or one, you wake up and say, it's great to be alive.
