The Importance of Generalization
I think sometimes you don't have to always focus on the most general stuff. If you make sort of many items of concrete instances of some more general rule over time, as you see those items over and over again, the intervals expand. You'll naturally generalize an abstract away the details and understand the rule. And it's a natural process in the brain,. But the problem is, you can't predict how you would formulate an item in six months, because that generalization has not occurred.
