The Mismatch Between Materialism and the General Public
Scientist Anal Seth says that for materialism to be true, we need an intelligible explanation of how consciousness emerges in the brain. But most academic philosophers think it makes no coherence sense because there's such radically different concepts here. The reason materialism continues to dominate is people think it's the scientific option. It's a philosophical question, which of these is correct - like abortion ethics.
