The Best Strategy for a Stacked Abdominal Wound Without Acute Indication for Surgery

In general, there's three separate decision pathways that you can go down for a stable patient with an anterior abdominal stab wound without any acute indication for surgery. Depending on the location and trajectory of the injury, it's possible that the patient may have a hemothorax or halobiscus injury. The end goal is to continuously evaluate which patients can be successfully managed non-operatively versus which patients need to be moved into the operating room right away.
