Is the Verdict a Turning Point?
I had a feeling that this was going to be the verdict, and i was already anticipating what the spin would be. I study protest movements, particularly the black freedom movement. The number of people who took to the streets of cities all over this country was unprecedented. That had a powerful, powerful impact on the fact that the police department felt it had to investigate. Had the protest not occurred, we would not have seen a conviction.
