The Midnight Cry
In her vision Ellen saw a straight and narrow path cast up high above the world. On this path the Advent people were traveling to the city which was at the further end of the path. The Midnight Cry is a reference to Jesus's parable of the wise and foolish virgins. In Millerite circles it referred to the warning that Christ was coming soon and people needed to get ready.
