How to Sell Your Non-Fiction Book
You've written four novels but most of your books have been non-fiction. Do you generally still manage to sell the book in advance of having written it or do you present it to the publisher as a done deal and sell it once you've already written it? I feel very very sure that this works for me, I hate writing anything that's designed to sell something. The way to publish unpublishable books is not to do a proposal but to just go ahead and write them. You know when you're starting off as a writer you don't get stuff commissioned they say send it in on spec because you know that's palming you off.
