Macaron Tokens - Is There a Future in That?

I was reading about this thing called Macaron from Google, Macaron tokens. Is that something you're familiar with? What is that? Is there a future in that? I'm vaguely familiar with it. Probably not in a place to give you any real authoritative answer,. But it's sort of a different take on tokens as I understand it.
