Do You Scream Fire in a Crowded Theatre?
First amendment lawyer David Frum says the phrase 'falsely shouting fire in a crowded theatre' has lingered. He compares it to handing out anti-draft pamphlets, which is protected by the first amendment. But people turn around and say you can shout fire in a well or when there's fire, he argues.
