How to Classify an Unemployed Person
The definition technically of an unemployed person is someone who does not have a job but is actively looking for one. "How do you define actively? This is not an easy thing to do," says CNN's Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. In the Great Recession hit, we had Americans unemployed in this country for longer on average than Americans have ever been unemployed,. A lot of these people ended up being classified as discouraged.
