Ashwini Kapi recently became the first Dalit woman from Asia to be appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council as a special rapporteur. In today's episode, Ashwini is speaking with my colleague Al-Kadhupkar about why her identity as a woman and Dalit matter in the role that she is about to take up. She explains what she plans to do, the challenges of speaking up as an Ambedkarite, and why speaking about caste outside India doesn't make you anti-Hindu.
