The Japanese Mental Health System

There are 1.2 million beds in Japan, 300,000 used by mental illness patients. 40% of beds in the 38 OECD countries are Japanese beds. Kuri Halla spoke to people who had experienced Japan's mental health system directly. Mikar is not her real name because she feared reprisals for speaking out. She believes patients are often over-medicated and claims there is a college out bullying them.
