The worthiness is a response to god's revelation of himself. It's also a response to the fundamental consequences of creation out of nothing, which shows god's distinction from creatures and so forth. However, that understanding, understanding of divine perfection, understanding of his goodness, needs constant refinement through re reading of scripture.
