Shell oil drilled for oil in the man grove swamps of the nidro dalta. The pollution that followed destroyed farms and rivers, contaminated fishing and drinking water of the ogoni people. We asked shell for a response to the report and what followed, and they sent us the following statement: "We are committed to the implementation of the u n e p report"
