Lenses in Films

I think it's good to be looking at films and thinking lenses. How you can make something appear a certain way, just by your lens choice. The longer lenses because it puts the background softer, gives you a softer feel. Say, terry mallock's films, some of them are very kind of romantic. But they're all quite wide lenses.
