The Delay in the Exodus
Jim Boulden: I think throughout the chapter, you have Rebecca being presented as a new Abraham type character. He also wants to suggest that Israel would see something of their own experience in what's going on here. So Sam read verse 64. This is when they basically send Rebecca off because she she says, no, I want to go now and they say, okay, you can go now. And then they then they leave her with this. It's set off in verse. The blessing sounds like the multiplication of seed promise that's given to Abraham. After Abraham gives him a reminder of God’s faithfulness, he goes ahead and proclaims the word of the Lord.
