The Idea of Reciprocity Is Important

You've got to give and receive. This idea of reciprocity is important because asking works both ways. We know that a giving creates positive emotions, that warm glow of giving. But receiving creates the positive emotion of gratitude. And when this is done in a network of people, in an organization, it really does increase the circulation of resources. That reduces stress. People are more satisfied with their jobs. The reser shows that there's a lot of benefits that come from engaging in ing, asking for and receiving help.
