Uno Assili is an associate dean for research and international programs at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She says footballers, but also African migrants more broadly, are contributing to their home communities. In Goa, Prandtl example, Sahaja gave money to a school in her hometown. When they give, they can give with this expanded local context, as well as the social capital she says.
