The Language Barrier Between Electronics and Memory
In order to make good brain implants for any of this application, you need to overcome the language barrier between electronics and the fact that the brain and body speak ion. There's a guy called Chris Bettinger who is working on materials that are able to speak ion, just like our bodies. And what's really interesting is that some of these people are looking at biological materials and trying to turn them into the next generation of electronics.
