The Priestly Ceremony in Exodus 12

In Exodus 12, we have a ceremony which by virtue of the killing of the lamb and applying and smearing blood to something. It's very similar to the ritual surrounding the consecration of the priests in Exodus 29. Israel is being set aside here to be priests unto God, a kingdom of priests. They are now kind of emerging into their role as the new Adam, the new humanity.
