When pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more and hardened his heart. And the heart of pharaoh was hardened. Neither would he let the children of israel go, as the lord had spoken by moses. Now the tragedy here is that the plagues could have stopped at seven. They could have changed. There was still some life left in the soil which could have brought egypt back to some kind of sense of security and prosperity. But no, there would remain three plagues more, and these would be total destruction and darkness and death. Pharaoh, you could have avoided all it. You said it was enough. You
