Females on the Autism Spectrum
Females are at substantially elevated risk of their autism spectrum being undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. When females are identified correctly, they're often identified years after a male would be identified with similar characteristics. The common misdiagnoses I often see include obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, ADHD, anxiety, social anxiety and PTSD.
